Autumn Afternoon Chili Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Hamburger
  • 2 sm Shallots
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1 can tomato sauce (16 ounce.) Salt Pepper Chili Pwdr
  • 2 Tbsp. Chives Basil tpo taste Garlic or possibly Garlic salt
  • 2 c. grated cheese (choose your favourite!) (recommend: Swiss)

Directions

  1. Finely chop the shallots and set aside. Brown hamburger in a skillet adding salt, pepper and basil. When done, drain the grease and set the hamburger aside.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat combine the tomato sauce, the hamburger, the red pepper and the garlic (to taste). Stir in the minced shallots and chives.
  3. Stir in a small healthy pinch of salt, and add in the pepper to taste. Add in a healthy pinch of chili pwdr and about a tsp. of basil. If chili becomes dry add in a few Tbsp. of water and fold in well. As the chili nears completion, stir in a bit of the grated cheese to thicken the sauce a bit. Place the remainder in a bowl to sprinkle over the chili when serving.
  4. For a BIG spicy kick, chop ONE (1) small habanero pepper minced into very tiny slivers.
