1234 Rice Pilaf Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. Butter
  • 2 x Pats coil fideo ( about 1 c.)
  • 3 c. Raw Uncle Ben's rice (for best results)
  • 4 can (14.5 ounce. each) chicken broth

Directions

  1. Heat butter in a 3-4 quart. sauce pan on medium heat. Break the fideo into 1-2 inch pcs and brown carefully in the butter till golden. Add in the rice and continue browning till the rice starts to lose it's translucent/soft quality. Add in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low. Cook about 40 min or possibly till all the liquid is absorbed. This is one of my most requested family favorites, it freezes well, and holds well for buffets and pot lucks. If you cut the recipe in half, reduce the cooking time to 25-30 min.
