About me
I have always loved cooking, eating, experimenting with food, grocery shopping and making my food by hand. While working at San Francisco’s Shanti Project, one of the world’s first volunteer organizations to serve patients with terminal and life-threatening illnesses, I discovered how important nutrition is particularly for people with compromised immune systems. Beginning at Shanti, I have been providing tailored nutrition counseling, nutrition seminars and food preparation classes for five years. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Nutrition and I also have a BS in Health Education/Women’s Health and a certificate in Nutrition Education. I created this blog to document nutrition tips, thoughts I have about the food regularly consumed in the U.S., and most importantly, to create nutritious and delicious recipes! Bon appétit!

- April 11, 2010Dear Stacy, I am not allergic to Gluten or anything at all. I want to try the Glycenic Index way of eating and cooking, is this the same as Gluten Free? I love cooking and experimenting, but I also have a weight problem, but have steadily been losing weight since last September, I am also diabetic but do not take medication and control it with diet and excersize. I need some good and exciting recipies for everyday meals for both myself and the family, and for us all to eat the same meals.
Please can you help with some suggestions, I am looking forward to hearing from you, Thanks a lot
