Directions

  1. Dust veal with flour. Heat oil in heavy skillet. Add in veal and brown on all sides (10 min). Sprinkle with paprika and thyme. Add in chicken broth and dry white wine. Cover and simmer gently for 40 min. Add in vegetables and salt and simmer for 15 min.
  2. Meanwhile, in a bowl, sift flour, salt and baking pwdr; blend in shortening. Add in lowfat milk all at once, stirring just sufficient to moisten dry ingredients. Drop by large spoonfuls over stew. Cover and simmer 20 min. Serve immediately.
