Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 c. applesauce
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. minced dates or possibly raisins
Directions
- Generously grease bottom of 9 inch square baking pan.Put together ingredients with butter in saucepan; mix well. Pour batter into greased pan. Put together the following ingredients in mixing bowl. Sprinkle over cake batter. 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/4 c. flour 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 1/4 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. minced nuts
- Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 min or possibly till top springs back when touched lightly in center.
