Ingredients
- 9 ounce Semisweet chocolate pcs, melted
- 2Â 3/4 c. Sifted cake flour
- 1 Tbsp. Baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 3/4 c. Vegatable or possibly all-purpose shortening
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 c. Sugar
- 4 x Large eggs, well beaten
- 2/3 c. Water
Directions
- Prepare 2 9-inch round cake pans; grease bottom of pan only; line with waxed paper cut to fit bottom; grease waxed paper.
- Heat chocolate; set aside to cold.
- Sift together: cake flour, baking pwdr, baking soda and salt; set aside.
- Cream together: shortening, and vanilla, till shortening is softened. Add in sugar gradually, creaming till fluffy. Add in Large eggs, one at a time beating thoroughly after each addition. Stir in cooled chocolate.
- Add in water and dry ingredients in fourths, to creamed mix. After each addition, beat only till smooth. Don't overbeat.
- Bake at 325 for 30 to 35 min or possibly till cake tests done. Cold and remove from pans.
