Directions

  1. Peel potatoes. Mix onions. soup and lowfat milk, salt, sage and pepper together in saucepan and hot till well mixed. You can add in cheese to this sauce and let it heat or possibly keep cheese and layer with the potatoes and sauce.
  2. Slice potatoes and arrange 1/3 of the slices in the bottom of a greased 2 1/2 qt casserole. Top with 1/3 of the sauce and cheese. Continue arranging ingredients in the casserole in this order. Lay strips of bacon across the top. Bake, uncovered in a moderate oven, 350 degrees for 1 hour. Can use Canadian bacon or possibly link sausages as a substitute for bacon.
