Sage Bacon And Cheddar Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking pwdr
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp. finely minced fresh sage leaves
  • 5 Tbsp. cool, unsalted butter, cut into pcs
  • 5 x bacon slices, cooked crisp and minced
  • 3/4 c. grated Cheddar
  • 3/4 c. well-shaken buttermilk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 F. and grease a large baking sheet.
  2. Into a bowl sift together flour, baking pwdr, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Stir in sage and with fingertips blend in butter till mix resembles meal.
  4. Stir in bacon and Cheddar. Add in buttermilk and stir till mix just forms a dough. Gather dough into a ball and on a lightly floured surface knead gently 8 times. Pat out dough into a 6- by 5 inch rectangle. Cut dough into 9 rectangles and arrange about 1 inch apart on baking sheet. Bake biscuits in middle of oven 15 min.
