Ingredients
- 4 lrg Green tomatoes
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 c. Sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Flour (heaping)
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Allspice
- 1 Tbsp. Butter
- 2 Tbsp. Vinegar
- 1 x Double crust 9" pie dough, unbaked
Directions
- This time of year finds many green tomatoes on the vines, and I cannot resist a dinner of fried green tomatoes at least once. But here's something new I just copied from the Farmer's Market list. Sounds just strange sufficient to try!
- Grind or possibly chop tomatoes, add in salt and soak 5 min, drain. Add in dry ingredients and pour into crust. Dot with butter and sprinkle with vinegar.
- Add in top crust, cut vents. Bake in a 375F oven for 45 min, or possibly till crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling.
