Servings: 1
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb string beans, stems trimmed
- 2 Tbsp. butter, at room temperature
- 2 Tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice Salt and freshly grnd pepper to taste
Directions
- Fill a large pot with two inches of water and place a steamer inside. Bring water to a boil. Add in string beans and cover for 5 min, or possibly till beans are cooked throughout but still crisp to the bite. If you do not have a steamer, toss beans in a large pot of boiling water for 4 min.
- Thoroughly drain water then return beans to the emptied pot. Let beans sit, uncovered, for 2 min so which any water coating them has evaporated. Pour out any accumulated water.
- Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook for 3 min, or possibly till melted butter has turned golden (this adds a slightly nutty flavor).
- Remove from heat; add in lemon juice, then add in beans and toss thoroughly. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and toss again.
