Followed your award-winning recipe. It IS a winner. BBQ-d chickens for guests. A huge hit. Wonderful after play on the palate. Rich, sweet & savory, very well balanced - a great recipe which I will be serving all season. I can also see this made with a quality root beer, which I believe would add a note similar to the Dr. Pepper (Cherry DP is a favorite of mine), and has a flavor profile that I believe might be more interesting than Coke. Thanks, Chef Patty.

I absolutly loved this! I drank dr. pepper for years but it became too sweet for me after a long stint of diet coke. I loved the heat that the chipotle adds to the sauce

Hey Patty! Love this recipe! I absolutely love Dr Pepper. I switched to diet Dr. P several years ago and was wondering would that work as a suitable substitute or should I add maybe Agave nectar to supplement the sugars?

Hi Sweetie! I think the Agave would be your best bet with this recipe. Thanks for your feedback and let me know how it turns out!
