Ingredients: 1/2 c. shortening; 1/2 c. white sugar; 1/2 c. brown sugar; 1 egg; 1/4 teaspoon salt; 1/2 teaspoon soda; 2 c. flour; 1/2 pound minced dates; 1/4 c. sugar; 1/3 c. water; 1/8 teaspoon salt; 1/2 c. minced nuts

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
2 c. flour
1/2 pound minced dates
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. water
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 c. minced nuts

Directions

Mix all ingredients well. Roll 1/4 inch thick.
Cook filling into paste and cool. Spread filling onto dough. Roll dough into long roll. Wrap up and chill.Grease cookie sheet (even non-stick sheet pan). Slice pinwheels and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 min. Put on waxed paper to cool.
