Directions

  1. Prepare syrup; cold to room temperature. In a large bowl beat the 1 c. butter with a wooden spoon till creamy. Add in sugar and beat till smooth; set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Break Large eggs, separating whites into a large bowl and yolks into a smaller bowl. Beat yolks till pale yellow.
  2. Beat egg whites till stiff peaks form, then mix in yolks. Stir farina into butter mix, then beat in Large eggs. Stir in baking pwdr, cinnamon, vanilla, and pine nuts, beating to mix thoroughly. Butter a 9 by 13-inch baking dish and pour in halvah mix, smoothing top with a spatula. Bake till set (about 35 min). Remove halvah from oven and pour cooled syrup proportionately over top. Cold to room temperature.
  3. Serving Ideas : Cut into small diamonds or possibly squares to serve.
