  • 2 sht pre-rolled flaky pastry
  • 1 x Onion, minced
  • 1 c. Minced bacon
  • 1/2 c. Mixed vegetables
  • 2 Tbsp. Spicy chutney
  • 6 x Large eggs Lowfat milk

Directions

  1. Below is a national favorite of New Zealand. Many of the favorite and well used recipes are English based! Let me know if you try it, what you think.
  2. When my daughter visited from California - she asked for this recipe. Take care and happy spring.
  3. Use one sheet of pastry to line a 20 cm square shallow cake tin. (8 inch)
  4. Sprinkle onion, bacon and mixed vegetables proportionately over pastry. Dot the chutney on top. Break Large eggs proportionately over, pricking the yolks so they run slightly. Carefully lift second sheet of pastry over filling. Brush top with lowfat milk. Bake at 200C (400 F) for 40 min or possibly till well risen and golden brown.
  5. To serve - cut into squares. Serve warm or possibly cool.
  6. Serves 6.
