About me
I am a mom of three grown boys and Mimi to two grandsons. I have lived in Texas almost all my life. I love trying new recipes that sound like they would taste good, my boys and friends being my Guinea pigs. I also like sharing my recipes, I don't think folks should keep all their favorite recipes to themselves. My grandmother took most of her recipes to her grave which keeps me wondering how she made those skillet buttermilk biscuits from scratch that once cooked they were 2 inches high and so mouth watering I can still taste them as if it was yesterday even though it has been well over 20 years since I had them. I welcome comments if you have tried any of my recipes. Sometimes I will take a recipe I see online or in a cookbook and tweek it until it comes out tasting just the way I think it should and other times I invent my own maybe from something I have tasted or seen prepared somewhere. Oh and last but not least I love Mexican food and Cajun food, I have tried many recipes at home some were good and some even the dogs wouldn't eat.
Cooking Influences
I will have to say that many folks in my family where my influences but I would have to say that my Grandmother Daisy was the one that had the most to do with it, with her buttermilk biscuits, buttermilk pancakes, 1st place at the state fair pies and cakes all made from scratch. Then there was my Mom and Dad they were so much fun to help and watch and of course to learn from since I had to start cooking for a family of 7 at the age of 11. Uncle Jerry is right up there with them but I think I have taught him more than he has taught me, he loves my grill potatoes.
