  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour two 9 inch round 1 1/2 inch pans. Cream butter and sugar. Add in the large eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition. After the last egg has been added, beat for 1 minute or possibly till the mix is light and fluffy. Sift the flour with the salt. Mix the baking soda with the buttermilk and add in alternately with the flour to the creamed mix. Add in the vanilla.Heat the chocolate in 2/3 cup of boiling water. Stir till smooth. Blend the chocolate into the cake mix. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 45 min to 1 hour at 325 degrees or possibly till the cake tests done. Cool in the pan. Frost with Chocolate Fudge Frosting.
