The traditional Pakistani biscuits called as Naan Khatai.Extremely light but sweet and just melts in the mouth.Traditionally made with clarified butter or "ghee", using plain unsalted butter would be just fine.

Directions

  1. Melt ghee and freeze until it becomes solid.
  2. Then remove from freezer and bring to room temperature.
  3. Preheat oven at 180 C.Line the baking tray with parchment paper.
  4. Sieve baking powder with flour.Keep aside.
  5. In a large bowl,beat ghee and sugar until creamy.
  6. Gradually work in the flour.Mix gently with hands until it comes together.
  7. Divide the dough into 36 equal portions,then flatten the dough and form a circular shape with your palms.Keep pressing the edges to form a smooth cookie.
  8. Arrange on the baking tray,2 inches apart.
  9. Dip a fingertip in milk and dab on the center of each cookie.
  10. Now sprinkle a few pistachios/almonds on top of each cookie.
  11. Bake 12 minutes until the milk turns light golden.
  12. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a minute.
  13. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely ,then store them in an air-tight container.
