Ingredients

  • 1 pound grnd beef
  • 1/3 c. evaporated lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. 3 minute brand quick oats
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c. minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • 1 c. grated American cheese
  • 1/2 loaf French bread - cut in half, lengthwise

Directions

  1. Combine first eight ingredients, plus 3/4 c. cheese. Spread mix over top of open bread. Wrap foil in a boat-like fashion around crust portion of bread, leaving the meat uncovered. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 35 min. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and return to oven for another 5 min.
