Directions

  1. Mix all the ingredients to get a semi thick paste and keep aside for 10- 15 minutes to rise.
  2. You must fry as soon as the batter becomes frothy.
  3. In the mean time prepare the syrup.
  4. Boil all the ingredients except the lemon juice. When it becomes one thread consistency switch off the flame and allow to cool. Add in the lemon juice and keep it ready to dip the fried jalebi.
  5. Heat about 1 cup oil in a kadai.
  6. Fill the batter in a squeeze bottle, you can make use of any old caramel or chocolate squeeze bottles.
  7. When the oil is hot squeeze out in a circular motion.
  8. Fry both sides. It takes less than one minute to cook. Pour two to three jalebi at a time.
  9. Remove from the oil and drench in the syrup and remove as quickly as possible.
  10. Best served when still warm.
