Servings: 1
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. oats, rolled (raw) quick cooking
- 5/8 c. water
- 1/4 c. raisins
- 1 pkt equal(r) sweetener
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
Directions
- Mix together all ingredients in a sealable/microwavable container. Can substitute 2 Tbs sugar for equal, cinnamon is approximately 3 shakes, salt is too. If raisins are not used, reduce water to 1/2 c.. Can be mixed a week or possibly more in advance. Heat in a microwave for 30-45 seconds or possibly till warm - cooking not required.
- NOTES : Okay, I know your initial reaction was a giggle - who needs a recipe for instant oatmeal, right Which's what I thought, too, till I gave this a shot.
- This recipe allows you to mix up a week's worth of breakfasts, each in a separate, portable, microwaveable container. Now you can eat real oatmeal at a moment's notice.
- Please note the substitution for real sugar, if you do not care for the blue stuff. I've never tried this with stevia.
