Ingredients

  • 4 x Tomatillos
  • 3 x Canned green chiles -- Seeded
  • 2 lrg Ripe avocados
  • 1 Tbsp. Chopped onion Salt and freshly grnd Pepper -- to taste
  • 1/4 c. Cilantro leaves, chopped -- For garnish

Directions

  1. 1. If using fresh tomatillos, throw away husks and wash the tomatillos. Boil in a small amount of water till just tender (about 5 min); drain.
  2. 2. Combine tomatillos and chiles in a food processor or possibly blender; process till smooth.
  3. 3. Halve the avocados and remove seeds. Scoop out pulp and mash with a fork. Stir in tomatillo mix and onions. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spoon into a serving bowl and sprinkle with cilantro.
  5. Makes 2-1/2 c..
