Ingredients

  • 3 c. water
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. fine-quality green tea leaves
  • 3/4 c. sugar plus
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan bring water to a boil. Add in tea leaves and remove pan from heat. Cover pan and steep tea 5 min. Add in sugar, stirring till dissolved, and strain tea through a fine sieve into a bowl.
  2. Refrigeratetea, covered, till cool and freeze in an ice-cream maker. Sorbet may be made 1 week ahead.
  3. This recipe yields about 3 c..
