Fruitcake Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/8 c. Hot Water
  • 2 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil
  • 3 1/4 c. Flour
  • 1/4 c. Brown Sugar -- packed
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Cloves
  • 2 3/4 tsp Active Dry Yeast Or possibly
  • 2 1/4 tsp Quick Acting Dry Yeast
  • 1/2 c. Dry Fruit -- minced

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in bread pan for bread maker, placing wet ingredients in pan first, then dry ingredients, reserving yeast and spices for last. Don't add in dry fruit at this time. Insert bread pan into bread maker. Select
  2. "Sweet, Light, Large/Small, & Start". Add in dry fruit to bread pan about 15 min after bread maker starts. (This recipe is for a 1 1/2 lb. loaf. )
  3. Amounts for a 1 lb. loaf are:3/4 c. water1 Tbsp. vegetable oil2 c. flour1 Tbsp. brown sugar1 teaspoon salt1/8 teaspoon nutmegdash cloves1 3/4 teaspoon active dry yeastOR 1 1/2 teaspoon quick acting dry yeast1/3 c. minced dry fruit
  4. (You can use this and other bread maker recipes just as you would a regular bread recipe. Just follow directions of a regular bread recipe and adjust for the ingredients in the bread maker recipe that you are using.)
