  1. 1. Combine sugar, corn syrup and water; cook slowly till sugar dissolves and syrup boils. Blend in butter. Stir constantly. When mix reaches 235 , (soft ball stage on candy thermometer), add in rawpeanuts and salt.
  2. 2. Continue to stir. When mix reaches 280 , remove from heat, stir in baking soda.
  3. 3. Pour into well greased jelly roll pan or possibly 2 cookie sheets.
  4. Break into pcs when cold.
  5. Makes 2 1/2 pounds of candy.
  6. For cashew brittle, substitute 2 c. unsalted cashews.
