Directions

  1. to start: sauce, put the celery garlic, onions bacon and carrots into a food processor and process to a mush.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan or casserole with a lid and add the processed ingredients, cook for 15-20 min over a gentle heatm, stirring until soft
  3. While the veg are cooking, mix together the liquid ingredients and the 2 tbsp brown sugar in a seperate container
  4. Then stir 1 tbsp brown sugar along with the cloves and allspice into the veg pan. Now add the hamburger, breaking it up with a wooden fork as you mix it into the pan of veg, stirring until the meat begins to lose its raw color
  5. Pour the liquid ingredients and stir gently into the meat, Put the lid on and turn down the heat to low simmer for 25 min
  6. Serve on rolls as sloppy joes or with tortilla chips
