About me
Hi. I’m Joe. I’m 24. I grew up watching my father cook. Now I do. People told me I should start another food blog.
I’m a thinker, quite deep, a realist—skeptical. A perfectionist. High standards; high expectations. A non-conformist. A traditionalist in a high-tech world. A cook, not a chef, but a straight up small kitchen, after work, on the weekends cook. A wino. A writer. I blog to express the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells which mesmerize, evoke emotions, bring you back in time. It’s hard to describe…so I photograph and share. Food is experiential, hands on, carnal, and pleasure incarnate. A wise man once said, “The more you learn, the less you know,” or something along those lines. I know what I know and know what I don’t know, and when it comes to food I know that I know little, but little is enough for love.
Cooking Influences
My father has been cooking since as far back as I can remember. Growing up I would watch him do his thing in the kitchen and Iet's just say I took a few mental notes. He was a minimalist with regard to ingredients, the less the better, but he always insisted on only using the best...a true perfectionist. So yea, I'd say he's one of my cooking influences.
I'm also a big fan of Anthony Bourdain, Lidia Bastianich, Eric Ripert, Chris Cosentino, and Jim Lahey.
