just a home cook who loves to watch food network and learn everything I can about cooking. Love to experiment and create my own recipes..become quite good at it. My family is sooo spoiled now for my cooking, they don't even like to go out to eat much anymore, unless it's occasional fast food. Love to spoil them, my food and recipes are all created with love and come from my heart.. Cooking is a great passion of mine.. everyone should cook, eat, and share there passion. Go GARLIC lol
although my mother wasn't a very experienced cook.. she did her best and cooked for the family every night. We grew up poor, and she did her best with her limited resources. :-) She did hand down a couple of amazing family recipes that just invoke memories of love and sharing, as well as adding a few pounds to the hips.. I dedicate some of those lbs. to her and her extremely indulgent and addicting cinnamon flop (an old menonite recipe, she grew up with) My taste buds thank you mom, and my husband thanks you "for giving him a women with hips he can hold on to", as he puts it. LOL
Another great influence in my life, is my twin sister(my heart) Judy! I love her very much and couldn't imagine life without her.. we cook together almost everyday of our lives.. we inspire each other to experiment with food and trust each other to always tell the other the truth. I am a bit more adventurous and she keeps me grounded..the ying to my yang.
Some of my other cooking influences include most of the food network stars..especially Paula Deen (who reminds me of my mom, and makes all of us women proud of her determination, and as they say in the south GUMPTION !! GO BUTTER) Trying to live a bit healthier now, but some times you just have to have some butter lol, "everything in moderation".
I'm also a great fan of Guy Fieri. Guess I just love a great story about personal drive and dedication to ones passion and family.
love the greats as well ( Bobby Flay, Ina Garten, Mario Batali, etc....)
