Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine in a saucepan; cocoa, butter, oil and water. Bring to a boil. Let cold. Combine sugar and flour in a large bowl.
  2. Pour cocoa mix, when cooled, over flour and sugar. Beat till smooth.
  3. Combine buttermilk, Large eggs, baking soda, cinnamon and vanilla. Beat into the cocoa mix. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch pan. Pour cake batter into pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 35 - 40 min.
  4. Frosting: Start 10 min before baking is done. Combine frosting ingredients in a pan, except confectioner's sugar. Heat till butter melts.
  5. Add in confectioner's sugar. Stir well, then beat till thick. Spoon frosting over warm cake. Top with nuts, if you like.
