Ingredients
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 x egg, well beaten
- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp soda
- 1 tsp baking pwdr
- 1 c. applesauce
- 1/2 c. raisins (and/or possibly nuts)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cream the shortening and brown sugar, add in the beaten egg. In separate bowl mix together the dry ingredients and then alternating with the applesauce gradually add in to the shortening mix. Add in the raisins and/or possibly nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet about 2" apart. Bake for 8 to 10 min or possibly till hard and slightly browned. makes about 4 dozen
