  1. Soak- reconstitute sliced potatoes.
  2. In margarine, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper, saute onions until translucent.
  3. Add potatoes, heavy cream, bay leaves, vegetable stock, and cheddar cheese. Cook on medium until potatoes are almost tender.
  4. Transfer to a hotel pan and sprinkle top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake 20+ minutes until brown and tender at 350 degrees F.
