Directions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.2. Grease the bread pans.
  2. 3. Switch on a burner to low heat. Heat butter in the saucepan on the burner.
  3. 4. Add in the sugar, salt and buttermilk. Stir with the wooden spoon till it has dissolved. Remove the saucepan from the stove and turn off the heat.
  4. 5. Allow the melted butter mix to cool.
  5. 6. Beat the large eggs in the small mixing bowl. Stir them into the melted butter mix.
  6. 7. Stir together the flour and salt into the mixing bowl. Add in the raisins and nuts and blend well with a spoon.
  7. 8. Add in the melted butter mix to the flour mix and stir to blend. Make sure there are no dry patches at the bottom of the mixing bowl.
  8. 9. Put the dough into the bread pans. Level off the tops with a spoon.
  9. 10. Bake for 1 hour. Take the pans out of the oven using the oven mitts. Turn off the oven heat.
  10. 11. Let the loaves cool slightly. Cut them into thick slices with the bread knife.
