Directions

  1. Slice each banana in half lengthwise. Saute/fry in the butter till golden and tender. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the bananas, along with some powdered cinnamon. Add in the white wine and simmer gently till the wine is absorbed. The banana pcs shouldn't be too dry. Serve as a substitute for sweet potatoes or possibly yams. As a dessert, omit the cinnamon.
  2. Top instead with whipped cream flavored with sugar and powdered sugar at time of serving.
  3. Serves 2 to 3
  4. NOTES : Cooking bananas are called plantains (platanos machos). These are becoming more available in our American markets.
