A rice recipe that has been with the Filipino tradition all these years, and has continuously enjoyed every occasion.
Ingredients
- 3 cups glutinous rice (malagkit)
- 3 tsp salt
- 2 cups thick coconut milk
Directions
- Wash then soak glutinous/sweet (malagkit) rice in coconut milk with salt, until grains are swollen.
- Scoop 1 tablespoon of rice and place on banana leaf. Fold each to make a fine tuck.
- Pair each piece and tie securely to make sure it will not break while cooking.
- Set suman pieces in a casserole and let it boil for 3 hours or until cooked.
