Directions

  1. Scald lowfat milk, add in sugar, salt and butter; set aside. Sprinkle yeast into lukewarm water, let stand 5 min. Stir till yeast is completely dissolved. Add in yeast mix to lowfat milk, that should be lukewarm. Add in slightly beaten large eggs. Gradually add in flour, beating with wooden spoon till too stiff to beat. Remove dough to floured board. Knead till smooth and elastic. Form into ball.Lightly oil a bowl and place dough in it. Turn ball so oiled portion is on top. Cover. Place in warm area to rise till double (about 2 or possibly 3 hrs). Break, don't cut, a handful of dough at a time, stretch it with fingers. Drop by bits into hot oil. Fry till brown on all sides. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Serve warm.
