homemade apple crumble with vanilla ice cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • FOR CRUMBLE :300g plain flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 200g fat
  • 175g brown sugar
  • FOR FILLING: 450g apples, cored and cut into 1cm pieces.
  • 1 tablespoon plain flour
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • 50g brown sugar

Directions

  1. preheat oven to gas mark 4, 180c
  2. sieve flour and salt into a mixing bowl and mix in sugar
  3. rub in fat with the tip of fingers till it is crumby
  4. place the apples in a bowl and add the the sugar ,flour, and cinnamon and stir.
  5. spoon the fruit mixture into a greased oven dish
  6. sprinkle crumble on top of the apple.
  7. bake in the oven for about 40-45 minutes or until browned and fruit is bubbling.
  8. serve with vanilla ice cream.
