Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. pet evaporated lowfat milk
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 6 ounce nestle's semi sweet chocolate morsels
  • 2 c. corn flakes -- plain or possibly sugar coate
  • 1 1/4 c. coconut -- cut up, 1 can
  • 1/2 c. nuts -- broken

Directions

  1. 1. In a 2 qt saucepan mix evaporated lowfat milk, sugar and butter or possibly margarine.
  2. 2. Cook and stir over medium heat till mix boils and is bubbly all overtop. Boil and stir over medium heat 2 min more. Remove from heat.
  3. 3. Stir in vanilla and chocolate till melted. Fold in corn flakes, coconut, and nuts. Drop quickly from a Tbsp. onto waxed paper. Let stand till set.
  4. Makes about 24.
  5. BUTTERSCOTCH MACAROONS:Use 6 ounces nestle's butterscotch morsels in place of chocolate morsels.
