Ingredients
- 1 pound butter
- 8 c. flour
- 7 T sugar
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 6 egg yolks
- 2 c. lowfat milk
- 1 lg. 2 ounce cake of yeast
Directions
- Use all cold ingredients. Measure out lowfat milk and beat egg yolks into lowfat milk. Add in broken up yeast and let stand. Then sift flour, sugar and salt together; add in butter as in pie dough. Add in lowfat milk mix to flour mix and mix well.Put in a large bowl and put in refrigerator overnight. Take out and let stand to room temperature about 1-2 hrs. Make your favorite coffee cake. Put in pan; let rise to double in bulk. Bake in 350 degree oven about 20-30 min. Makes: sweet rolls, pecan rolls, fruit, cheese streusel, crumb or possibly honey coffee cakes or possibly your favorite.
