Ingredients
- 1 c. butter
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. white sugar
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 3 Large eggs
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
- Before you make the dough, get filling ready so it can cold. Add in all ingredients of filling together. Bring to a boil. Let it boil gently for 5 min, do stir. Take off burner and let cold.
- To make dough: Combine sugars and butter till creamy. Add in Large eggs and beat till all blended. Sift flour, salt and soda and add in to first mix, add in vanilla.
- Take a big piece of wax paper, add in some flour, put dough mix on it and mix to flatten. Put another sheet of wax paper over and roll as for jelly roll. When date mix is cooled, spread on dough and roll up like a jelly roll. Chill for a couple of hrs and slice. Bake 325 to 350 degrees for approximately 10 min.
