Ingredients
- 1/2 lb Sweet butter
- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1 x Egg yolk
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 1/2 c. Flour
- 4 x Egg whites
- 1 c. Sugar
- 3/4 c. Finely grnd walnuts
- 1 tsp Lemon extract Blackberry jelly
Directions
- Cream butter and sugar; add in egg yolk and salt. Add in and salt. Add in flour gradually and beat. Pat dough into thin layer in 12 x 12 inch pan. Beat egg whites; add in sugar till stands in stiff peaks. Mix in grnd nuts and flavoring. Spread jelly over and swirl meringue on top. Sprinkle with minced nuts; bake at 350 F about 45 min. When hot, cut in squares.
