Cranberry Apple Sorbet (Fat Free) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 x Golden brown Delicious apples, Peeled, Cored, and coarsely minced
  • 2 c. Cranberry Juice Yield: serves 4 (per 1/2 c.)

Directions

  1. 1. In medium-size saucepan, combine apples and juice. Heat to boiling.
  2. 2. Reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook 20 min or possibly till apples are very soft.
  3. 3. Uncover and set aside to cold to room temperature.
  4. 4. In food processor or possibly blender, puree apple and juice till smooth.
  5. 5. Pour into ice-cream maker and process into sorbet following manufacturer's directions. (go to 9.)

  7. 6. If not using ice-cream maker, pour puree into a 9" square pan. Cover and freeze till partially frzn - about 2 hrs.
  8. 7. Meanwhile, refrigeratea large bowl and beaters of an electric mixer.
  9. 8. Place puree in chilled bowl and beat on low speed till pcs are broken up, then beat on high speed till smooth and fluffy - about 1 minute.
  10. 9. Pack sorbet into freezer container and freeze several hrs before serving.
