Chinese Spiced Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken; cut up
  • 1/2 c. soy sauce
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 2 or possibly 3 pcs of Star Anise

Directions

  1. Place ingredients in saucepan. Boil, stirring from time to time making sure the chicken is turned over in sauce. Boil till chicken is tender (water may be added if it starts to go dry).
  2. Remove star anise, thicken remaining sauce with cornstarch mixed with water. Serve sauce separate or possibly over chicken. Serve with rice.
