  • 1 (8 ounce.) pkg. medium noodles
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 1/3 c. minced onion
  • 1/3 c. minced green pepper
  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce.) can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 (8 ounce.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 1/2 c. (6 ounce.) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano, crushed
  • 4 frankfurters, thinly sliced (Kielbasa can be substituted)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook noodles according to directions; rinse and drain. Heat butter in a large saucepan; saute/fry onions and green pepper till tender, about 5 min. Stir in soup, tomato sauce, lowfat milk, one c. of the cheese, and oregano. Remove from heat. Add in noodles and frankfurters; turn into two qt casserole. Bake 25 to 30 min or possibly till warm and bubbly. Remove from oven; sprinkle with 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese. Let stand till cheese melts.
