Ingredients

  • 1 lb grnd round beef
  • 1 sm white onion, minced
  • 1 sm can minced green chilies
  • 1 c. grated, reduced fat, cheddar cheese
  • 1 jar (12 ounces) picante sauce (mild or possibly medium)
  • 1 sm can tomato sauce
  • 1 sm can French fried onion rings, divided
  • 18 lrg pasta shells (stuffable kind)

Directions

  1. Cook pasta shells according to directions. Preheat oven to 350 F. In a bowl, combine tomato sauce, picante sauce and one c. of water. Set aside. Brown meat with onions, salt and pepper. Add in green chilies, 1/2 c. of cheese, half a can of onion rings and 1/2 c. of prepared sauce. Stuff shells with meat mix.
  2. Pour remaining sauce over shells. Bake uncovered for 30 min. Sprinkle remaining onion rings and cheese over the top. Bake for 5 min, or possibly till cheese is bubbly.
