Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef (should be 90/10)
- ¼ cup diced onion (about ½ one small onion)
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- ½ cup water
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp. yellow mustard
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. chili powder
- ½ tsp. ground black pepper
- dash cayenne pepper (optional)
- 8 hot dogs
- 8 hot dog buns
- Optional garnish: shredded cheddar cheese, relish, chopped onion
Directions
- Cook beef and onion over medium heat in a large skillet until meat is no longer pink; drain off fat.
- Stir in tomato sauce, water, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and spices.
- Place hot dogs in slow cooker; top with beef mixture.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until heated through. Serve on buns with cheese, relish and onions if desired.
