Streusel Caramel Apple Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 x (9")unbaked pie shell
  • 4 lrg Tart cooking apples cored sliced thinly (about 6 c.)
  • 1/4 c. -Plus 3 tb unsifted flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 14 ounce Sweetened Condensed lowfat milk
  • 18 x Carmels
  • 2 Tbsp. Brown sugar firmly packed
  • 2 Tbsp. Cool margarine
  • 1/2 c. Nuts minced

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375. Place rack in lowest position in oven. In large bowl toss apples with 3 Tbsp. of flour and 1 tsp. of cinnamon. In heavy saucepan combine sweeted condensed lowfat milk and carmels. Over medium heat, cook and stir until melted and mix is smooth. Immediately toss carmel mix with apples. Spoon in to pastry shell. TOPPING****In small bowl, combine remaining 1/4 c. flour, sugar and remaining 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon. Cut in margarine until mix is crumbly stir in nuts and sprinkle over pie. Bake 35 min; coover loosley with aluminum foil to prevent overbrowning. Bake 10 min longer. Cold Serve hot chill leftovers.
