Ingredients
- 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 med. green pepper, minced
- 1 sm. onion, minced
- 1/2 c. fresh minced mushrooms
- 2 teaspoon Italian seasonings
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 (8 ounce.) can tomato sauce
- 6 English muffins, split and toasted
- 2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
Directions
- Brown sausage in skillet; drain any excess fat. Add in peppers, onion, mushrooms, seasonings, and garlic; cook 2 min. Stir in tomato sauce and simmer, uncovered, for 10 min. Top each muffin half with 2 Tbsp. meat sauce, sprinkle with cheese. Broil till cheese melts and filling is warm. Serve immediately. Yields 12 servings.
