Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
  2. In medium bowl, beat together Large eggs and lowfat milk till well blended. Pour half of the egg mix into a 13- by 9- by 2-inch baking pan. Place 6 of the bread slices in the egg mix. Turn slices and let stand till egg mix is absorbed. Place on heavily buttered baking sheet. Repeat with remaining egg mix and bread slices.
  3. Bake for 6 min. Turn slices. Spread with butter, if you like. Continue baking till golden, about 3 to 4 min. Serve immediately or possibly freeze for later use.
  4. This recipe yields 8 servings.
  5. To Freeze: Cold toast slices on wire rack. Return to baking sheets. Freeze in single layer 1 to 2 hrs. Wrap in individual-serving portions or possibly stack slices and wrap. Return to freezer. Store up to 1 month.
  6. To Serve Frzn Toast: Reheat single servings in toaster or possibly place unwrapped slices on ungreased baking sheets and bake in preheated 375 degree oven till warm, about 8 to 10 min.
