.%20Dorothy%20is%20one%20of%20the%20kindest,%20and%20one%20of%20the%20most%20talented%20bloggers%20out%20there,%20and%20has%20won%20a%20bazillion%20ribbons%20in%20cooking%20contests.%20We%20share%20a%20love%20for%20greens,%20so%20you%E2%80%99d%20think%20that%E2%80%99s%20where%20I%20would%20head%20on%20her%20blog%20for%20her%20Grilled%20Caesar%20Salad%20or%20her%20Chickpea%20Chile%20Soup%20with%20Greens%20and%20Grains%20(both%20of%20which%20I%E2%80%99m%20definitely%20making),%20but%20the%20fact%20that%20she%E2%80%99s%20won%20at%20least%2016%20ribbons%20in%20pie%20contests%20made%20me%20think%20%E2%80%9CPie!%E2%80%9D%20I%20just%20didn%E2%80%99t%20realize%20I%20was%20going%20to%20end%20up%20with%20a%20savory%20one!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAccording%20to%20Dorothy,%20these%20Impossible%20Pies%20were%20popular%20in%20the%2070%E2%80%99s,%20but%20somehow%20I%20missed%20them.%20She%E2%80%99s%20an%20expert%20on%20the%20matter,%20and%20has%20several%20different%20recipes%20for%20Impossible%20Pies%20on%20her%20blog%20%E2%80%93%20for%20example%20her%20Impossible%20Quesadilla%20Pie%20and%20Spinach%20Feta%20Greek%20Impossible%20Pie.%20But%20I%20went%20with%20Mac%20%E2%80%98n%20Cheese%20Impossible%20Pie%20and%20have%20no%20regrets.%20Impossible%20Pies%20are%20essentially%20ones%20that%20are%20all%20mixed%20together%20in%20a%20bowl%20or%20pie%20plate%20with%20a%20little%20baking%20mix%20like%20Bisquick,%20and%20(impossibly)%20bake%20up%20to%20create%20their%20own%20crust.%20Super,%20super%20easy.%20And%20absolutely%20delicious.%20The%20top%20is%20like%20a%20creamy%20quiche,%20the%20bottom%20like%20mac%20%E2%80%98n%20cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20made%20a%20couple%20changes%20that%20worked%20well.%20I%20added%20some%20spice,%20because%20we%20crave%20spicy%20food.%20And%20I%20added%20some%20shredded%20potatoes%20because%20I%20was%20recently%20shipped%2020%20lbs%20Idaho%20potatoes%20for%20an%20upcoming%20sponsored%20blog.%20I%E2%80%99m%20adding%20potatoes%20all%20sorts%20of%20things%20right%20now%20to%20see%20what%20they%20add%20to%20a%20dish%20:-).%20This%20dish%20will%20be%20on%20regular%20rotation%20%E2%80%93%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20wait%20to%20make%20it%20for%20the%20kids%20when%20they%20come%20to%20visit%20this%20summer!%20They%20will%20LOVE%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMac%20'n%20Cheese%20Impossible%20Pie%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERating%20%20%20%20%205.0%20from%201%20reviews%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20Tbsp%20unsalted%20butter%202%20cups%20shredded%20sharp%20cheddar%20cheese%201%20cup%20uncooked%20large%20elbow%20macaroni%20(Dorothy%20used%20a%20Trottole%20shape)%202-1/4%20cups%202%25%20milk%204%20large%20eggs%20%C2%BD%20cup%20baking%20mix%20(I%20used%20Bisquick)%20%C2%BC%20tsp%20onion%20powder%20%C2%BC%20tsp%20garlic%20powder%20%C2%BC%20tsp%20Hungarian%20paprika%20%E2%85%9B%20tsp%20cayenne%20pepper%20%C2%BC%20cup%20shredded%20Parmesan%20cheese%201%20cup%20shredded%20russet%20potatoes%20(2%20medium%20potatoes)%201%20Tbsp%20slivered%20basil%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20oven%20to%20400%CB%9AF,%20and%20coat%20a%2010-inch%20pie%20dish%20with%20butter.%20Place%20on%20a%20baking%20sheet.%20Mix%20together%20the%20cheese%20and%20macaroni%20in%20the%20pie%20dish.%20Thorough%20mix%20together%20the%20remaining%20ingredients%20EXCEPT%20THE%20BASIL%20in%20a%204-cup%20measuring%20cup,%20and%20pour%20over%20the%20macaroni%20and%20cheese.%20Push%20down%20any%20macaroni%20on%20the%20surface%20-%20it%20must%20all%20be%20covered%20with%20liquid.%20Bake%20for%2040%20-%2050%20minutes%20until%20the%20top%20is%20all%20puffy,%20and%20the%20macaroni%20are%20completely%20cooked.%20A%20knife%20inserted%20into%20the%20pie%20should%20come%20out%20clean.%20I%20tented%20foil%20over%20the%20pie%20after%2020%20minutes.%20Allow%20the%20pie%20to%20cool%20for%2015%20minutes%20before%20slicing%20and%20serving.%20Sprinkle%20a%20little%20slivered%20basil%20over%20the%20pie%20just%20before%20serving.%20%203.2.2925%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPin%20It%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETags:%20cheese,%20eggs,%20featured,%20pasta,%20potatoes%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
