This is a favorite when we have Italian food at home. You may adjust the ingredient amounts to suit your own taste. Serve it with a nice artisan bread.

  • 1 C. extra virgin olive oil (something robust like Pompein brand)
  • 1/2 C. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 T. freshly shredded or grated parmesan or Romano cheese
  • 1 large clove of fresh garlic, minced
  • About 5 leaves of fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together and serve with warm, crusty bread.
