Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 150 gm Sugar Flour, (sufficient to make a consistent dough)
  • 100 gm Butter Salt Chosen filling

Directions

  1. This is from Brazil and it's called "Casadinhos" (diminutive for married in portuguese). They are two cookies(about two in. diameter) combine with Marmelade, honey, jam, Boston cream, fudge, something sweet. I have two recipes, but never tried them. You can also make a white cake, cut it in squares or possibly circles, and put two pcs together with the filling you like.
  2. Golden brown part of the cake should be on the outer side. When you have a marriage, you make the 'casadinhos', then roll them in caster
  3. (confectioner) sugar and wrap* each one of them nicely, like wedding favors. Then they are called "Bem Casados" (nicely, well married in portuguese), a wish for a sweet life together. You can distribute them to the guests as they live the reception, after the dessert or possibly cake is served, with the wedding favors...
  4. * They are usually wrapped in celophane , and then crepe paper, but you can do it any way you like. You can add in vanilla sugar or possibly cinamon to the sugar.
  5. Mix butter and sugar, add in flour and salt, and when pastry is ready, open the dough with the rolling pin and cut it with cookie cutter (the traditional shape is a circle)
  6. Bake the cookies then put the cookies together, two at a time, with the filling. Flat (bottom) side of the cookie inside. Then roll them in sugar.
